QuietRefresh Privacy Policy

Effective: October 13, 2026 (updated for version 1.1.0)

QuietRefresh does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.

  • All settings (refresh interval, pause option, optional keyword) are stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
  • The extension contains no analytics, ads, or tracking. Its only network request is license activation: when you click Activate on the Options page, the license key you entered (and nothing else) is sent to https://quietrefresh.vercel.app/api/verify to confirm it is valid. The key and Pro status are then stored locally.
  • Permissions: "tabs" and "alarms" to reload the tab you chose on a timer; "idle" to detect whether you are using the computer (only the active/idle state is read, locally); "notifications" for keyword alerts; "storage" for settings. "scripting" and site access are optional and requested only if you turn on keyword alerts, to read the text of the tab you chose, locally, to check for your keyword.
  • Purchases (website): Pro is sold through Stripe Checkout. Stripe processes your payment and email under its own privacy policy (https://stripe.com/privacy); we never see your card details. When you open the thanks page, our server confirms the purchase with Stripe and stores a record of the issued license (license key, Stripe checkout session id, purchase email, date) privately so we can verify keys and help if you lose yours.
  • Waitlist (website): emails submitted to the earlier Pro waitlist are stored privately and used only to tell you about Pro. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
